Thoughts on serving others

I read recently about how not enough of us factor personal relationships into our paradigm of ‘success’. Personal connections, including friends, family, co-workers etc, are vital to living a healthy successful life. Serving is a great way to build close relationships, and give you the foundation for attracting more in the future.

Serving others is a great way to find humility by focusing outside of ourselves. Whether it is helping out a friend in need, or volunteering for a great cause, taking time for others is great for our mental health.  By serving we are able to grasp a better perspective on our place in the world and how we can affect those around us.

Find Ways to Serve

There are many ways we can serve others, I will just mention a few broad ideas. Volunteering is a great way to spend your time and really help out some great causes. You can search online for your city, county or state to find opportunities. Cooking for a friend or family member is a great way to build bonds and show them how much you care. Gift giving, is taking time to think about someone else’s needs or wants, and thinking about how you could help. The main takeaway is that serving is taking the time to care about someone else, just 15 minutes of presence and an open ear to a friend is serving them. I want to begin accounting for my personal relationships and time serving into my paradigm for success.
