I always liked the idea of it, to have books filled with years of thoughts. I forget where I saw this, but I think it is absolutely true, is that keeping a journal is as close as we have to a time machine. I love going back and reading old writings. Something I am still batting around with is what exactly to write about. At times I have used it for daily notes or a workout log. I have taken hour long stream of thought writing sessions. I even filled one book with drawings alongside my writing. Especially when doing physical journaling you get unlimited freedom with creativity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lately I have started to pick an idea or a topic and try to stay focused writing only on that. Journaling as a whole has helped me learn about myself and my tendencies. It has many great benefits. I try to use it to clarify my thinking and brainstorm. I want to consider writing as a skill of mine, which is why I try to keep this blog too. My journal is also a great system of record, more of my emotional state and internal thoughts. For that reason, may be good to burn the old ones lol. I originally liked the idea of my kids reading it after I am gone, but then I find that I start to censor myself, and even question my own ego that someone would care to read my writings, ha!<br><br>My next experiment will be a journal for burning, after each page, I will rip it out and burn it as a ritual.
